Open Primaries have been Secretly Closed!

4 October, 2007 by Matt Robison

The thief is caught yet again.
Do you still think that government has your best interests at heart? Let’s take a look at the latest despicable thing to come out of this group of established crooks and liars.

Many people are holding out hope that Ron Paul will attract many votes in the primaries, and this hope is bolstered by the fact that some states have open primaries. Typically, once has to be registered as a Republican to vote in a Republican primary, but if the primary is open, anyone can vote. (There are some nuances, but that’s the basic idea.)

And it’s not a naive hope. Considering that the Ron Paul campaign raised 5 million dollars for the 3rd quarter, and has over 10 million dollars in the bank, it’s safe to assume that the grassroots support is bigger than most mainstream media outlets are reporting.

The ideas of freedom are popular, and many who are not registered to any particular political party or people who normally don’t care for politics are beginning to open their eyes to the opportunity. Open primaries can only help these people in allowing them to let their voice be heard.

But something very evil and dark is going on behind the scenes. The establishment doesn’t want these people to be heard.

Take a look at the chart on this page outlining the date for the primaries in each state, and whether they are open or closed.

You’ll notice that both New York and New Hampshire have their “Party Change Date” fields highlighted red. They also are categorized as “Modified Closed”. These primaries used to open. In fact, they were still open just a few weeks ago.

Notice the deadline to change your party has been moved up to October 12th!

This has been done in relative secrecy, which means many people who plan on voting for Ron Paul in the primaries will be turned away because the current cowards in power like to change the rules halfway through the game. And then they don’t even tell anyone about the rule change until it’s too late.

Hopefully their deceit can be unveiled fully, and more people’s faith shaken in the corrupt idol we call government.

The voice of the people crying out for freedom will not be muffled so easily. History has shown that cowardly, evil acts such as these will only make these voices cry out that much louder.

I’m sure one could file a lawsuit claiming that the whole process was unconstitutional. It basically takes away one’s right to vote. And, even if such action is warranted (I doubt it), doing it three months before the election, should also be considered unconstitutional. In this internet age, a requirement that calls for voters to be registered at least one month prior to the election date should be fine, at which date you could declare your party affiliation if needs be.

All of these schemes and laws do nothing but help those in power. Why do you have to declare party affiliation anyway? Why not just have them declare when they show up to vote?

I agree that someone from one of those states should file a lawsuit. It’s clearly unconstitutional.

The GOP will attempt to shut out Ron Paul to their own detriment. Apart from Ron Paul all they have is a bunch of unappealing corrupt cronies that don’t have the support needed to beat Hillary.

I guess they feel their corrupt interests will be protected better with a Hillary in office than a Ron Paul in office. Of course, with the country on their verge of bankruptcy they’ll still lose out with Hillary.

And you know what? They would be right. It’s no surprise that Bush is secretly consulting with top Democrats and giving them tips on how to run their campaign.
